Guest guest
One more thing. Have your Feritin levels tested. This is an iron test. Most docs will do a CBC and tell you your Ok because you have the right amount of red blood cells and your hemoglobin is good so your iron must be good also. NOT SO. I was constantly cold and my AP doc did a feritin level and found I was in the bottom of the scale. I'm not sure but I think this helped with the nails also because I started the biotin at the same time. Ive been googleing it also. the one site says that thyroid problems can also be caused by the mycoplasma infections, so then you have to ask which came first? the thyroid due to the infection or the thyroid due to the minocin? since I did have borderline tests before minicin and Ive only been on minocin for a short time, im not gonna jump to the conclusion that mininocin caused it. But i will definately keep an eye on it. also on the other issues, Ive lowered my dose also. I have been to an endocrinologist (only one around here) but I dont like the man, so im not going back there. he didn do anything for thyroid issues either. Im now driving 1 1/2 to 3 hrs (depending on traffic) to go into DC for the AP DR. and I will try the biotin!!! Ive been taking geletin and it helps with the nails as far as they dont break off so low as to bleed anymore. Kathy
