Guest guest
You bet. My blood work results fluctuated somewhat radically during my first 2 years on SCD, then settled down and has been fairly consistent for 3 years, except for a steady deterioration in my mineral levels which is another story.... From my research I've learned this fluctuation is quite "normal" when the body is healing, and my doctors have also told me the same thing. I had blood work done every 3 months during the first year on SCD, then every 6 months during my second year because my doctors were keeping an eye on my liver enzymes due to my diagnosis of Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, and also were keeping an eye on how I was recovering from a hysterectomy for a malignant ovarian cyst. They didn't worry about the fluctuations from one result to the next, but instead looked for trends over time. I think this is a normal procedure, looking at blood work results over time. It seems particularly relevant when our bodies are healing our digestive system, and we've shifted to a different diet. Just takes a while for our bodies to settle down. Kim M.
