Guest guest
It's been a while since I last posted on this site. So the latest on my fibroid growth shows a growth of 2.5 cm from my initial pelvic ultrasound last July/02 of 5.8 cm x 5.6 x 5.2 . My last ultrasound last Jan/03 shows 7.2 x 5.4 x 6.6 cm. I went for a second opinion with Dr. Allan Klapper (has anyone been treated by him ? - he is a New York City doctor) and he suggested that it can be reduced/taken out by undergoing a hysterescopic resection. But before doing so, he would like me to take Lupron shots (at least 1 or 2) before the procedure. I voiced out my concern about taking Lupron because of its side effects. Will 1 or 2 Lupron shots be significantly harmful to me ? he is not guaranteeing that by taking the shots, the fibroids will be reduced significantly - maybe 2 cm, 1 cm or even less ? If this is the case, does that mean I have to take more Lupron shots ? Please help. I am undergoing another ultrasound this Thurs to see exact position of the fibroid. thanks, Nida
