Guest guest
Ok...I'm always seeing yall talk about iron and ferritin (are they the same?)...so I figured maybe this is something I should look into. Then I notice that I had this tested in February when I was diagnosed. I think. I had a Iron and TIBC test. Here are the results: Iron Bind Cap (TIBC) 263 range 250-450 UIBC 161 range 150-375 Iron, Serum 102 range 35-122 Iron Saturation 38 range 15-55 So okay...whoever is the expert on this stuff...do these labs tell me anything I need to know? Thanks. Cindi

Guest guest
All I know from what I've been checking into is that an iron saturation of 38% is close to iron overload/hemochromatosis. Anything at or above 40% is something to check into to see if it is hemo. I would get your ferritin checked as well.
