Congrats Deb! You are such an inspiration. I was feeling a little down as I

have lost only 4 lb. in the last two weeks but I know this is probably

normal! Anyway, thanks for bringing me back up!

I have been reading the mail between the patients and the gonns be patients

regarding this surgery, my husband is in the process of having his Dr.'s get

the ball rolling for him to have this surgery as soon as we can get his

insurance to agree to it. I have been doing the research to assist the Dr.s'

case that he needs this surgery to be able to be around a few more

Christmas'. He is only 38 years old and is 6'2 " & weighs over 354 lbs., is

diabetic, has sleep apnea and has tried every diet known to mankind and all

of his family!ha, ha.. The info I have gathered and the emails from you

brave and sharing souls that I can share with him has really lifted his

fears and doubts completely and he has FINALLY quit saying I may as well die

cause I'm never gonna be well or able to have much of a life anymore. We

have only been married 2 yrs., this Nov. 7th. I am 9 yrs. older than he is

and have had 6 surgeries for various ailments since our marriage, most

recently carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and that's when he became the

sickest yet and we were told about this type of surgery. I just wanted to

thank you all for talking so openly about your fears, successes, the HOPE

you exude and this whole experience changing your lives, because it has

helped save my husband's and that means all the world to me and hope all of

you have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year and much success.

Sincerely, Nanaellie@...

sad to hear you are in the hospital, glad he didn't just send you home

when you need the care. You have no idea how much I envy you your

laptop. I've wished to be able to communicate to others (besides phone

since all my friends are long distance as they live in a different part

of the Bay Area and now all of you). I'm trying to save up enough to get

one sometime in the future. Keep us updated and REST!

I'm so-so today. I think the makers of my salad dressing lied. It says

it only has two grams of fat, but it hurt like it had a lot more. :.(

But, i took a pain pill and a nasea pill and feel much better at the

moment. The one nice thing about being in the house alone, I can play my

music as loud as I want. :.)

Hope you are doing better today.

feeling better today. Hope you are too. At least i'm not the only one

who ends up dancing around the house when cleaning. I prefer to clean

with lots of loud bouncy music, too.

definitely, definitely, find a pancreatic specialist. Tell us where you

live and maybe one of us lives near you, someone can give you a

recommendation on doctors (and hospitals). Those interns/residents are

just horrible. They obviously do not understand pancreatitis, let alone

chronic pancreatitis. You CAN have specific people banned from your

care. As a patient (therefore a paying guest, whether you pay for it or

your insurance does) you have rights and can get the care you need and

deserve. If you ever go back for any reason, just ask for the physician

staffing supervisor (explain the situation) and then have the residents

(get all their names) bared from your room and your care. If they

interfere, have security called. You can even open a grievance with them

through member services. I had a doctor bared from my room when I had an

attack a year ago.
