Hey Everyone

Hey Aisha and all my friends,

I have the nasty flu virus and bronchitis to boot also Janice and her kids had moved in with me cause she had left her abusive husband. It was a great situation for me to be able to help her out and those precious babies but like a fool she went back to him yesturday.

The DCS worker warned her if she did the kids would be pulled and rightfully so they need a good stable invironment.

However the stress level has been maxed the past 3 weeks but now the kids are with corrina and michael they were picked up tonight and i'll be helping as far as babysitting.

I appreciate everyone for the lovely christmas cards sorry i haven't been able to do anything I have been barely getting by with all thats been going on.

I have a ton of e-mail to catch up on, I love each and everyone of you. I am in tremendous pain physically with the sarc and now the flu, actually i believe the flu has the sarc in full flare and it worries me with me being on methotrexate.

It hurts so bad to breathe but i don't feel congested.

I just got my computer over here yesturday so i have a lot to catch up on and i will be quite busy now that i will be helping with the kids.

I hope my health holds out.

Jan, You are a wonderful friend to everyone, I know that when I was really down with the sarc and the hydrocephalus this year you had made me feel much better just with your post and knowing you cared. I know it is very discouraging that your friend went back with her spouse, I have never really understood that I have been married for 22 years but if my husband started beating on me today, I wouldn't think one moment about getting me and my children out of there as you never know when their anger is going to turn toward the children. am interested in the drug therapy or trials you have been given. I

am in Brisbane. Where are you situated?

This illness is all very new to me and I'm very unsure what to expect

right now.

Toni,

So sorry you have this disease. I hope you've read Aisha's article on NS. The link is at the bottom of the page- in fact at the bottom of every email sent via the group. It will give you all the info you need to start this journey.

I've had pulm sarc for 13 years, systemic and NS for the last 6 or so. With proper treatment so many of the side effects of this can be controlled- so having a team of MD's that can address each area of the body and mind that's being effected is really important.

One of the things we've all found helpful is Aisha's NS website- and we give copies of the info to our MD's. There is so much research that has been done, and so little time for your MD's to research it themselves, that this will save you alot of grief.

Howdy everyone...hope all is going well..I'm still waiting on the infection to clear up (from my biopsy incision) so I can start steriod treatments..I'm still able to work (tent salesman) forty hours a week. This has not been a good year for me so I'm looking foward to a better year in 2004..I'm glad to have this group that understands what I'm going through. , I am sorry you are going into a flare..........they hit very quickly, don't they??? I thought I was doing

pretty good and the all of a sudden, wham!!!! Darn old monster, anyway! Hope it is not a bad flare, but

then all of them are bad enough.....take care of yourself...

And is right............we need to hear from the rest of you....we worry about you all and it is not good

for any of us to worry....if you are sick, just send a note and say you are sick.....you don't need to write a

Hey Everyone

How's everyone doing this week, did you have any special plans over the weekend, did your kids come home or do they stay home? Were they like me boomarang kids.. this means, I moved out and moved back in, moved out and then they wouldn't let me move back in..lol

Of course I was 32 at the time..lol

Just to give you all alittle update on myself.. I think I'm heading for a major flare if it hasn't already hit.. I'm sleeping all day long, having sore and hot spots behind my neck with weakness and tremors in my shoulders and arms... and sadly enough I can't remember squat. But now that I'm 47 just about as old as dirt, like Elodia...(she is 6 months older than me, btw) I can't tell if its a combination of old age and NS or one of the two.

How are the rest of you? Quint you doing ok? ? Has anyone heard from Kim or Kim from El Paso? ie you need to update us on your life when you get a min. Stinson, how ya doing friend? Please, let us know how your doing, especially if you haven't posted in a while..

Demylination is where the mylin sheath that covers our muscles, ligaments, brain and spinal cord, starts to deteriorate. Usually with NS, it starts at the nerve ends and goes up to the spine, with MS it starts at the spine and brain stem and goes down.

I imagine that what your MD's are going to do now, is try to figure out if you have MS or NS. There's a couple of other auto-immune diseases that can cause demylination, but honestly, my brains not pulling them up right now.

Hang in there, it sounds like your closer to answers--and to treatment.

Yes I've been absent from the computer. My husband came home for the weekend so I sent the grandbabies home to their mother and spent some good time with him.

Mother's Day we went to his mother's house for a family meal. He is trying very hard to get home every holiday to spend with her since she is 94 now. I keep telling him she is going to outlive me. She is in excellent health and I'm glad for her. She has never had a major illness and the only surgeries she has had were Hip replacements. Fortunately she is still really alert and she only gave up her drivers license two years ago.

I'm trying to figure out what my MRI report means "gliosis or possible central pontine myelinolysis" from the definitions I've found it means a type of demyelinating process now what is that.

Of course the doc did not tell me I requested the report from the medical records department.

On my nerve conduction studies they say "left sural sensory latency is absent"

Major development I had hair about done to my mid-back that I would braid and put in bun on top my head but it was getting so thin on the ends there was not enough to make a decent bun so last Thursday I had it cut off really a big decision it is pretty short and unfortunately will take a lot more work but it does look better and softens my fat face some.

I'm tons of messages behind and am trying to catch up on my reading.

I totally agree, we do need to support each other the best way we can... If I fail to answer your emails its not because I don't care, or not interested.. Its because I'm either not doing well myself, or just plain lazy. But I do love each and everyone of you. So please, lets do as Jeri said, and support each other. If you specifically need me to comment or want to ask me a question. "I don't know why" LOL, just add my name somewhere on the page, cause I read them all..... I want this group to be the most loving group to be found anywhere, and I think it is. but we've been slack with one another lately.

HERE'S A SECRET!

I can remember the time when I didn't really think I mattered in this group,and that no one was listening. SO, I decided I was gonna write a story, partially true and with some imagination, just to see if, I would get any response. It was on a weekend. and I wrote a story about some squires in my attic. Now mind you they were there, so the story had some truth too it. But my intention was to see if anyone was listening or reading anything I wrote. SO, the story went on, and I said I took my son's BB gun, and left it as a cliffhanger to see if anyone would be interested enough to asked "WHAT HAPPENED?" Do any of you remember this? LOL... I had a huge amount of people ask me, " What did you do" I've never questioned this site again. This showed me that even though I don't always get a reply, people do care, and are listening, and reading my post. So, don't feel left out of the group. If you have something you want to say it, say it. But don't get carried away and start cussing us all out, that will get you banned.... You know what I mean. Something sarcoid related, something support related, hearts are hurting, family being a pain, I need help finding some information. Lets just get talking and showing each other that we love each other.

In regard to all the discussion about someone not getting their emails answered.........this has happened to me lots of times! I just figured that everyone was so sick they could not answer and when you get back you have so many emails to go through that you forget to answer each one. I know that is what happens in my case. When I am able to answer, I try to answer each email but when I am sick, I just cannot. When this happens to me, I just forget it and figure everyone is sick.....do not let little things such as this bother you....the stress is NOT worth it. We are all sick here and we DO think of each of you, LOVE each of you, and PRAY for each of you ---- every day. I would like nothing better than to be able to see each one of you (including me) be healed of this sarc monster but this is not possible at this time --- so we must stay together as a group and fight this sarc monster.... and hopefully someday soon, there will be a cure or at least some GOOD help! In regard to all the discussion about someone not getting their emails answered.........this has happened to me lots of times! I just figured that everyone was so sick they could not answer and when you get back you have so many emails to go through that you forget to answer each one. I know that is what happens in my case. When I am able to answer, I try to answer each email but when I am sick, I just cannot. When this happens to me, I just forget it and figure everyone is sick.....do not let little things such as this bother you....the stress is NOT worth it. We are all sick here and we DO think of each of you, LOVE each of you, and PRAY for each of you ---- every day. I would like nothing better than to be able to see each one of you (including me) be healed of this sarc monster but this is not possible at this time --- so we must stay together as a group and fight this sarc monster.... and hopefully someday soon, there will be a cure or at least some GOOD help!
