The one & ONLY time I go t a flu shot was the worst flu I ever had in my

life that year! I was sick the whole winter. When I questioned my Dr he just

said " Imagine what would have happened without that shot! " ... LOL Talk about

propaganda!

me too, 1969 and I was pregnant with my first. That was the only reason that I

had the vaccination but I got the worst dose of flu I've ever had in my life.

Never had one since and doubt I ever will.

Doesn't worry me - I don't get flu shots and don't get the flu. I

don't remember ever having it. (knock on wood.)

PS Sunday was very very very nice. ;)

I had my first flu shot in Oct 2001, at work, where we are offered this for

free. I got very sick with a virus shortly after that shot, was sick with

a nasty stomach virus of unknown origin (for one week) the following week.

Within 2 months, I was hyperT/Graves w/diagnosis. I was hypoT before, just

undiagnosed (that I am sure of). I've heard that a lot of people who have

autoimmune thyroid issues have this happen after flu shots are

administered.

My first Endo asked me if I took flu shots when I saw him. He never

explained.

Ya know what I was thinking that I haven't thought about and made a

connection? Last September was when I did my first own thyroid testing for

the Frees and TSH. I knew that I had started on a downhill route because I

was feeling really ill for the last 2 yrs before that. Sure enough my test

results were horrible, and I had started on Armour a few wks before that.

So, like an idiot (because I work in a healthcare facility, so I was more

fearful of getting flu), I went ahead and had the flu shot in the first wk

of November. Now, mind you, I was aware of the fact that I was still

severely hypo, but no, that didn't stop me, I had it anyway. Now think

about this. It was in the first week of the following March that I finally

did my own testing for the thyroid antibodies, and you know they were both

in the thousands, not hundreds, but thousands. I had just started having

problems with swallowing, my throat in the thyroid area swelling, etc.,

etc.,........after being on thyroid meds for over 10 yrs. I never even had

that kind of swelling when I was first diagnosed all that time ago. It had

just occurred to me, with these posts on the flu vaccine, that that could

have been the main trigger for them to soar so high during that time. I

haven't had them tested again since I came on up on the Armour, and, as I

posted, I have a suppressed TSH now, with the Frees just now in the more

acceptable range (that's even a question mark though). As a matter of fact,

I think it WAS the trigger, though I hadn't been feeling well before that.

The first thing I had after I went to work at this facility all those yrs

ago, was the Hep B vaccine, over a period of months. All sorts of strange

things started happening to me after that time period, which, of course,

could have been general stress, adrenals, and you know the rest, but I can't

help but strongly suspecting all these vaccines that I'd never had in my

whole life. Go back on the way back machine to the young age of around 5 or

6. I had my first DPT vaccine and got deathly ill for several days, the

first time I was ever sick, and was never sick again until I had some kind

of booster when I was 13 or 14. It was when I was 14 that I came down with

pneumonia, out of nowhere. I was not sick from any cause, including a

headcold, until I was in my early 30s, but had also had a tetanus shot

around that time, when I got a nail in my foot. I'm thinking that we don't

know how many things we are sensitive to out here, just not giving credit

for it being that. It's like a mine field for people who have these things

sitting on their chromosomes already. We truly are an accident waiting to

happen.

I know, but what I'm talking about here has already happened to you, others,

and myself. I wish I could say otherwise, but genetically, we're already

predisposed, then with all the things that happen to us, it brings it into

being. That's all that means.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm not getting flu shots. Have read they have Mercury, aluminum & other junk in

them that make us sick in other ways later or even cause more flu epidemic.

Ditto other vaccines & the pneumonia shots. Not getting them myself this year,

didn't last year either tho I was sick last year but cured that myself. I know

more alternative health ways to cure flu & pneumonia. If they don't work & I die

instead...oh well.....sayonara. I don't care really. My body's so wracked with

pain most of the time I'd rather not be in IN a body most days anyway.
