My History:

They've known I had NF since I was very young.. mainly because I have lots

of skin tumors (So they weren't sure if NF1 or NF2)

Ever since I can remember, the eye doctor always said I had a lazy eye, but

it wasn't that drastic.

Sometime around 15 or 16, my lazy eye went into couch potato eye mode, the

eye is more or less permanently crossed. I can still see out of it, just

it's range of motion is limited. The eye doctor put together the NF

diagnosis with the lazy eye and ordered an MRI and wha-la.. Huge AN

To date, I've had a surgery done to attempt to center the lazy eye, which

was unsuccessful. I can still see out of the eye and have double vision.

Curious, everyone keeps mentioning the word, blind...

You mean absolutley no vision in eye? some vision? both?

I have " lazy " right eye, (many crew have lazy eye also, ironic?) I can see

out of that eye, not very good, but I can see still....

born that way.

help me out kids,

You sound like this is past tense? Are you considered legally blind? marie

I think 's second poll should be how many people feel NF2 has affected

their eyesight? Marie

Have you had him to a Center, like we have the " Low Vision Department " at

Pgh Vision Center; the guy that is head of their computer technology dept.

is blind/ and not just legally, I mean really blind; but they have all sorts

of helps; I am getting Zoom Text for the computer, and OVR is paying for it.

I hate this...... I just had an eye-test and it turned out they can't help me with my right eye... But they said maybe glasses can help, but I don't see the point of glasses when I already have a hearing-aid? There's not much space left behind my R ear, so the glasses won't stay put I guess

.

Re: "blind"

Hi ,They discovered I couldnt see well with my left during a kindergarten vision test and its 20/400 and 20/200 is consdiered technically blind .Tev

ill be sorry posted this in the morning but; Things are as bad, as 'You "

allow them to be. Imp speaking here with a very heavy heart. I have young

children of my own.:( The ability of your child is not reached yet, it may

be far to come still. He may have an understanding that will far outweigh

any squabble we could voice here on this station. He will be FINE: :) He

will be with many others surviving the same challengeable as he:) With love
