Good morning and happy New Year to everyone. Here's to a healthier year

for everyone here. I decided, as one of my acts for the new year, to face

my scales for the first time in a couple of weeks. What I learned was

encouraging! I hadn't gained any weight, but instead had managed to lose 2

tenths of a pound. In nine more pounds I can call , at Freemont, and

tell her that I am the requisite five pounds from goal. I would like, in a

way, to be ready to do that at the end of the months, and the

accomplishment of same doesn't seem unreasonable to me. On the other hand

I am having second thoughts about this as well.

The malabsorption of food does, and always has, concerned me, as well as

the altering of my insides. I am beginning to wonder if I could live like

this and lose weight, I find the protein shakes as meal replacements

helpful and not too hard to do. I like the new regimen of taking vitamins,

a thing I have never done before, and I am already starting to feel some

increase in energy, when I get enough sleep to make it all work. The idea

of never being able to go out to dinner with friends and eat normally has

always bothered me too, so I am rethinking a little bit. For now I am just

in a holding pattern, back on track this morning, and yesterday really too,

and seeing how I feel as the month progresses. Hope everyone's day is

really good. LaWanda
