Guest guest
Thank you Barb, for sharing your experiences with us. Some of us are in the early stages before the "horrors" of MDA/SDS really set it and need past caregivers like yourself to realize that God really never gives us more than we can bear. You apparently got as much as you gave to Ralph, and we thank you for staying around to give us hope with your grace and courage. Ruby Re: Urine Stix Ginger, We have purchased these strips through our pharmacis. He did order them. They are not covered by our insurance, but we felt that this was cheaper than going to doctor on a weekly basis. There is a color code on the side of the container that tells you what you are seeing. Our doctor requested that we especially watch for increased leukocytes blood glucose Your doctor may want the same info or something else. We catherize my husband four-five times daily. We check urine at least once a week, sometimes more often. When you check urine, you must be sure that you use a sterile container. I actually boil our small container for three-five minutes before checking the urine. You only need enough urine to cover the strip. Your doctor might also provide sterile containers that they use for urinalysis. We do have containers from the doctor when we find there might be a problem and want to take a good sample to the doctor's office. The brand and manufactor info follows; Multistix 10 SG Reagent Strips for Urinalysis. Manufactor: Bayer Corporation Elkhart, IN 46515 I hope that this info will be of some help to you.
