Guest guest
Hi everyone, I've had IBS since my teens and am now in AARP land <g>. Increasing intolerance to fruits over many years, which has really accelerated in the past two years. I've been off of dairy for 20 years, gluten, corn and soy for 2. Had a recent crisis and now can eat very few carbs at all. My main symptom is pain. Sometimes agonizing pain in my small intestine. My body told me to give up 3 more starches last month and had 2 minimal D incidents. Since then, this terrible pain and weight loss. No other symptoms. Anyone else have similar symptoms ? Thanks for any input ! Sue R
Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Sue R. Can you give us more details? What tests have you had, any diagnoses so far? Where is the pain located, which side of your abdomen, what part of the small intestine, how long does it last? I have chronic upper GI pain, right upper quadrant. I also have an oversensitive digestive tract, so can get pain from normal peristalsis anywhere along my intestinal tract. I've been on SCD for more than 5 years, but still can't eat more than half of the permitted foods simply because my digestion can't cope due to my particular combination of digestive dysfunctions. I have improved greatly, however, since the day I started SCD. In fact my gastroenterologist is amazed at how well I'm doing, considering that I have Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. Anyway, if you can give us more details, maybe we can offer more suggestions. And if we know what your doctors have checked for, then we might know of some things you can ask about. Kim M.
