Guest guest
I Am Called By Pamela Haschke I am called Sister, daughter, mother, wife. I am also called Breast cancer survivor. Something I never thought I would be. Yet I am. I am in remission. No evidence of disease. They tell me there is no real cure. I will always live in wonder Of its return. Cancer is a journey. An Iron-Man triathlon. A black diamond ski run. A mountainous trek. A journey of courage. Courage to let others do for you, What you can no longer do for yourself. Courage to be nurtured and supported, When you have always been the giving one. Courage to keep your will strong And to take strength from those around you. Courage to say “I can do this,†Even when you feel you cannot. Courage to take time to rest When the fatigue tells you, you must. A journey of faith. Faith in God, Not despair or anger at Him. Place your hand in His, Let Him guide you to the healing garden, And listen for His voice in the whispers of the wind. Faith in medicine. Thanking pathfinders who have gone before you, Helping find new ways to treat the disease. Thanking the doctors and nurses, Radiologists, therapists, surgeons, All of whom find the path that heals you Even saves your life.
