Guest guest
I think the pump sounds like a good idea. Don't know about the cream. I have been using progesterone cream but I wonder if I even need it. I have never noticed that it does a darn thing...unless I use too much. Then my breasts get bigger. I wonder if all the stuff I thought was ED is really just hypoT. Guest guest
I have been thinking about having salivary testing of my hormone levels but I have read that at this stage of my life ( almost 47 ) my hormones are all over the place from day to day and time to time so that I cannot get a good picture of what is happening over time. Also, I never know where I am in my cycle for reference ranges because I am so erratic as to ovulation. If I had a lot of money to spare I would do many tests over different times...but I cannot do that. One thing I do not understand is why progesterone would be thought the hormone diuretic where it is the hormone of pregnancy which is a fluid retaining time. I think I bloat on progesterone. I certainly do not shed water! I read that low estrogens cause the loss of waist. I still have a very defined waist so am making the supposition that I have a bit of estrogen. I still have periods too. On a funny note....I thought about doing cortisol level testing but know myself well enough to know that I would stress out at the thought of doing the test and cause my cortisol to rise for the testing!!! So, I decided not to waste my money on that! Roxanna North Star German Shepherd Dog Rescue Inc northstargsdr@... www.northstargsdr.org Progesterone. to Janie - Emerita -vs- Endau .... I, too, did not do well with progesterone cream. Following Dr. Lee, I used it for two years. My bone density went from -2.5 to -3.1. I then tried sublingual bi-est and compounded progesterone capsules. I was a crying mess. At the end of five months, I had ZERO estradiol and truckloads of progesterone. I stopped that and went to a bio-identical estradiol gel with intermittent progesterone suppositories to cause shedding, if necessary. That has been wonderful for a year. However, sometime in late May, I started having night sweats and have gained 9 pounds. Before that, I had not been able to lose but had not gained. I'm thinking I'm not absorbing the estradiol any more so will have to resume my search. I don't know if the weight gain is estradiol deprivation or thyroid so I need to get some hormone testing done. Menopause is a time of estrogen LOSS but, from what I understand, progesterone does not decline for at least 10 years after. Some progesterone is produced by the adrenals so if one's adrenals are not working correctly, I can see how progesterone might help. Regardless, I think that testing of estradiol and progesterone is advised before and during the time any hormones are used. Val I have been using progesterone cream but I wonder if I even need it. I have never noticed that it does a darn thing...unless I use too much. Then my breasts get bigger. I wonder if all the stuff I thought was ED is really just hypoT. Guest guest
anyone with above 20% body fat will have it in places that are there for the long haul.
