Guest guest
Hi all, My son, (3 yrs. old)has been having a lot of trouble with " tummy aches " in this last year. He's been to several different doctors to check into it and now his gastro doc wants to do endoscopy and colonoscopy to see what's going on. He also mentioned about putting dye down the tube to see if there's any reflux. (he's thinking this is what it could be) He also thinks my son could have irritable bowel syndrome. Do any of your children have these things? and what do you do for it? I was also reading about delayed gastric emptying... Is this what happens for that? or are the symptoms different? My son has an undiagnosed FOD and has periodic testing when the doctor gets new ideas, but so far nothing specific... Thanks for listening. Guest guest
DeeDee My son Colby has a lot of bowel trouble. Increasing fiber has helped. When he was younger they did a reflux study on him, they put a wire through his nose that he was supposed to swallow, boy was that fun, Dr asked me to leave the room. Anyway he was there over night and had a little machine hooked to the wire. I had to document when he swallowed, was asleep, and so on. He had several severe episodes of refluxing. We then saw a pulmo, who did some kind of test and found he had evidence of food in his lungs. They put him on a medication, that I think they don't use on children anymore. This was awhile back, so excuse my memory. We do nothing today, I know he still refluxes, because I hear it and he chokes. I have reflux also, and IBS, If I don't stay on a stict diet of high fiber I am sick for days. We had plans to attend conference in Dallas, had already charged a portion to our credit card that will probably not be refunded. Anyway, I ate the wrong foods, and have been sick, since last Sunday. I stayed in bed most of the time. Friday was the first time I left the house, and my husband and I went to a going away party. I had 1 drink. We then went a movie, where I became severely ill. We almost went to ER, but I hate the ER that we go too. So came home and layed down with a heating pad. IBS is very painful, lots of cramping and nausea. I hope your little one does not have it. Fiber is the best thing for me. And definintely no alcohol! That was quite scary for me, I actually thought I was close to dying. I think blood sugar and blood pressure were low. I just need to stay at home I guess! Sorry I wrote so much, I wish you the best of luck. See ya mom to Colby 12, COX IV, LCHAD, ADHD, Chad 14 healthy, Caleb 9 also healthy
Guest guest
, IBS is almost as bad as Labor, sometimes worse. I have it. I take Levbid daily it helps the cramping. I also have reflux. I wonder how manny mito-moms have these conditions Robin
