So glad to hear things are going well on your trip to Iowa. What a

blessing that you are there.. Isn't it great to meet other families

in a similar situation? I can imagine how encouraging it was to see

that little boy running around and doing so well..

Hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow. Keep us informed,

Best wishes,

had his tenotomy after 3 sets of casts, he was just under 1

month old. The doctor gave me a prescription for a very low dose of

tylenol with codeine to give him 1/2 hour before the procedure. He

tolerated it beautifully, just fussed a tiny bit, but wasn't knocked

out from the medicine. ( Hard to tell, of course, with such a young

infant.) There was no bleeding through the casts. I gave him some

regular tylenol through the night, but I'm not even sure if he needed

it. I was not in the room while they did it, but came in immediately

after. I'm not sure I could take watching someone take a knife to my

baby's leg, and I'm an ER nurse who has seen it all. So, all in all,

it was a positive experience, and I had great faith in his doctor,

which helped a lot. PS - will be 1 year old on July 26th, and

his feet look beautiful. He crawls like a madman, pulls to standing,

and walks with hand holding. I hope to post some pics when I get a

spare second. Good luck, all will be well.

I want to thank everyone for helping me both on and off-list with guidance and

reassuring me about my colonoscopy!

It's a big deal for me since how I was traumatized by my first scope when I was

17 years old.

Anyway, you all mean so much to me and having this community helps me be brave

and strong.

So thank you my fellow SCD'ers.

Big hugs-

Jodi
