Guest guest
So glad to hear things are going well on your trip to Iowa. What a blessing that you are there.. Isn't it great to meet other families in a similar situation? I can imagine how encouraging it was to see that little boy running around and doing so well.. Hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow. Keep us informed, Best wishes, > I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave and I advice > for our trip to Iowa. We saw Dr. Ponseti on Monday. Thanks again. > > Jo Anne had his tenotomy after 3 sets of casts, he was just under 1 month old. The doctor gave me a prescription for a very low dose of tylenol with codeine to give him 1/2 hour before the procedure. He tolerated it beautifully, just fussed a tiny bit, but wasn't knocked out from the medicine. ( Hard to tell, of course, with such a young infant.) There was no bleeding through the casts. I gave him some regular tylenol through the night, but I'm not even sure if he needed it. I was not in the room while they did it, but came in immediately after. I'm not sure I could take watching someone take a knife to my baby's leg, and I'm an ER nurse who has seen it all. So, all in all, it was a positive experience, and I had great faith in his doctor, which helped a lot. PS - will be 1 year old on July 26th, and his feet look beautiful. He crawls like a madman, pulls to standing, and walks with hand holding. I hope to post some pics when I get a spare second. Good luck, all will be well. Guest guest
I want to thank everyone for helping me both on and off-list with guidance and reassuring me about my colonoscopy! It's a big deal for me since how I was traumatized by my first scope when I was 17 years old. Anyway, you all mean so much to me and having this community helps me be brave and strong. So thank you my fellow SCD'ers. Big hugs- Jodi
