If the top of your yogurt maker has come off, it may mean that

the temperature of the water and/or yogurt is too high. The quickest way

to solve this problem is get a dimmer switch from your local hardware store or

the hardware section of Home Depot or Lowe’s. It should cost about

$15.

Here is a blog post complete with pictures giving all the info

you need to explain the overheating and what to do to solve it:

Subject: Top of my yogurt container keeps blowing off!!!

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong

here. This is the second time I am making SCD yogurt. I had no problem last

time, although this time around I have found the top of my yogurt maker opened

on the counter. I am thinking that pressure may be building inside the

container and causing it to blow open. Please let me know if anyone else has

had this experience and what I should do about it.

Thanks,

Ron
