Some of the things that could be responsible are: 1. The dawn effect (the body changing it's condition by making hormones etc.) 2. Exercise during that time. 3. Meter variances. If similar changes occur every day, I would say it's the dawn effect.

Guest guest
Ruby, meters have a +/- accuracy factor of 20%. That 15-point difference fits easily into that area, so I wouldn't worry about it. Guest guest
Ruby: this is the dawn effect--your body is preparing for the day & NEEDS fuel. Unless you give it some immediately, your kindhearted liver will dump suger into your bloodstream. The best way to defeat this is to eat as soon as you get out of bed or you might even want to keep something (I used a handful of nuts) on your bedside table & eat these as soon as you waken. You might also try taking your morning dose of Metformin before you get up. This shd help keep the liver quiet till you get up. cappie Greater Boston Area T-2 10/02 1/05 A1c: 5.4 = 115 mean glu 50-100 carb diet, walking, Metformin ALA/EPO, Coq10, B12, ALC, Vit C Cal/mag, low dose Biotin, full spectrum E, Chromium P, Policosanol, fish oil cap, fresh flax seed, multi vitamin, Lovastatin 20 mg, Enalapril 10 mg 3/05:140 lbs (highest weight 309), 5' tall /age 67, cappie@...
