Guest guest
Hi, Keira Normally I'm on synthroid (.150 mcg)My endocrinologist said the cytomel will take the edge off the fatigue. If how I'm feeling now is any indication of how I'll feel when off all meds, arrgh!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm definitely foggy and fatigued. Not tired to the point of being sleepy - just no energy. When I'm taking synthroid, I feel great. I can't wait until this period of time is over!!! n
Guest guest
Cheyenne, I have that same craving at night, so I too save points for it. My favorite nighttime snack is 2 low-fat cinnamon grahams (full sheets) for 2.5 points plus 2 T of Cool Whip Free between them for .3 points. Add a cup of Diet Swiss Miss for .3 points and it's a total of 3.1 !! I look forward to this almost every night! Bette

Guest guest
I crave food at night too. I seem to graize (sp?) all day and then budget my dinner pts and 2-3 pts for popcorn every night. I love that I have a nice nighttime TV food ritual. It helps prevent late night binging. Cheyenne
Guest guest
Hi there, Count me in for that ritual also, lol!! That was my biggest problem for gaining weight, when the kids were finally in bed I'd reach for the food and lots of it. I don't eat too much during the day because I'm running around like an insane person (adding to the food issues with that overwhelmed feeling...vicious cycle), but I like that night-time eating. I try to go light all day but have enough to fight off binges and then use dinner points and save some for snacks. It works most of the time or at least if I slip I don't go off the deep end completely. Re: Re: Hi All Cheyenne, I have that same craving at night, so I too save points for it. Guest guest
My WW leader said that we can start counting our daily points starting in the evening if we feel like we're more of a night-eater. Like start your " day " at 4 pm and end at 3:59pm the next day. Apparently this way of counting points is ok with WW 'cause she wouldn't suggest it if wasn't. That might eliminate your guilt over eating late, which there is nothing wrong w/ anyways. > >> >> I really do not know if this is good, but I have been eating lighter >> during the day so that I have points to munch during the night we I >> seem to crave food more. I too, am most vulnerable in the evening, so I tend to try and save my points for then as well. Everyone needs to know their own bodies and work the program to meet their own needs. It sounds like you're doing that - recognizing when your cravings come and planning for them - good job!!!! Mitch > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Lori: I am so sorry to hear that 's labs aren't looking good. If I were you, I sure would call and tell them that you are feeling confused and concerned, and you would appreciate a call from your neph. You need to have a decent explanation of what is going on. I hate to admit this, but I've forgotten, do you go to Cincy Children's?? , mom to Rob, 15 On Tue, 01 Feb 2005 02:56:43 -0000 " littlell523 " writes: Hi everyone, Haven't been able to visit much this past couple of weeks, we have been really busy. How is everyone doing? Here I thought we were doing great and then went to the neph last Thursday. Well, this was the first time that we had seen this doctor, bedside manner he doesn't have. is now down to 50mg of pred for a month and then 40mg the next month, after telling me this he then said " We don't know if she is getting better, her levels are all higher than when she left the hospital, so I need to run more tests on her " . Her BP has been really good, but then the doctor says " you will hear from us in about 4-5 days and we will probably being putting her on a BP medicine for the protien spills, so you will really have to start watching her BP closer " . And then he left, no thank you, no, let me explain, nothing. What the heck!! Am I missing something here. So, once again I feel like I'm on the roller coaster, just when things were sort of getting on an even level. What do you guys think?? Should I call and talk with her other doctor that we have known since she went into the hospital? Guest guest
Dear Lori, This doc sounds like a poor excuse for a pediatric neph. I would definitely talk to the doctor that you'd been seeing. Sometimes these docs get so wrapped up in the labwork ect that they forget that there is a patient -a real person- on the other end. When I've had doctors like that I've had to get their attention, sometimes by writing a letter, sometimes by calling them back in the room when they leave. If they expect you to follow their every order, then you deserve an explanation. Especially when it concerns your child! You say, " excuse me, Dr. H. (for Hyde? LOL), but what levels are worse? Where should her BP be staying? What medicine are you thinking of putting her on? We need to understand what you're telling us a little better! " There is no excuse for a doctor who can't or won't explain things to the patient. Hang in there, -beth
