Well I finally got em. Of course there is some scribbling from the Dr

I cant read. I won't post the entire CBC but I thought it would give

blood cell stuff like white and red. They instead gave me a

comprehensive metabolic panel. My glucose is the only one that pops

out. Its 94 with a fasting range of 65-99.

Ferritin 33 (10-154)

Iron & TIBC, serum iron, iron 158 (35-175)

Iron binding capacity 295 (250-400)

% saturation 54 H (15-50%)

T3 uptake 26.5 (25-35)

T4 total 5.8 (4.5-12)

Free thyroxine index 1.54 (1.12 - 4.20)

TSH 0.18 L (0.40 - 5.5)

T3 free 244 (230-420)

T4 free direct dialysis 1.1 (0.8 - 2.7)

I can hear it now - your iron and T3 are too low. Take some iron and

either up your dose of Thyrolar or order some cytomel from

myrxforless. :)

Oh and that iron overload group told me " Energy does not come from

stored iron - ferritin - but iron that is in red blood cells.

Thyroid symptoms are usually the first signs of excess iron.

Energy might be helped by taking a B complex vitamin. Do not take

multi vitamins or over the counter vitamin C. Steve Barfield Iron

Overload Diseases Assn. "

Phooey. It's like an intricate game. Take this but it might raise

this. This is low but if you take that it might affect something

else.

Well I would not jump on the iron just yet, I am a little unfamiliar

with you story do you mind explaining more, are you on thyroid meds

and iron now. Your iron numbers do not totally collaberate with each

other, with the higher iron in the blood I would expect TIBC to be

higher, I think there is a glitch right now do to some thyroid

issues. Your binding proteins seem high normal, I really would have

thought the FT4 and FT3 would have been lower since the totals are

also low, are you dehydrated? What were the sodium, potassium, and

albium in the metabolic panel?

I stopped my multivitamin on Sunday - the blood test was Wed. I

didn't change my diet though. But I am NOT on Atkins and don't eat

much meat.

It was a fasting test. Stopped eating at 830pm the night before and

got the test about 9am the following morning.

PS Men in black - yum! :)

Are you having any kind of symptoms? Yout Ft4 and Ft3 being lower

range I think an increase would not be that bad of an idea, are you

getting to menopause age? Since it was a fating test did they run a

glucose also? Did they DX you with central hypo or do you have

antibodies?
