Guest guest
> > My question is does the yogurt help inflammation or if my intestine has too > much inflammation will the yogurt only aggravate it? Yogurt helps inflammation in the sense that it helps establish proper microflora in the gut which in turn improves everything else. Will it irritate you? Don't know. Have you ever tried any? > Colitis Oct 2008 ( Still not sure if I have UC or Crohn's) This is surprising since it's a pretty easy diagnosis. Your Dr. has never give you a diagnosis? -- Cheers, DF in MA UC June '07 SCD Nov '
Guest guest
Doug, thanks. I've been using the yogurt since I started SCD back in Jan 08. I've just been in a bad flare - diarrhea, bleeding, lose stool, pain in my right side and abdomen - for the past few weeks and I'm trying to determine if anything I'm eating is causing this. I did the intro for a few days and it didn't help. I'm down to eggs, yogurt, chicken soup, chicken, hamburger patties, applesauce, cheesecake and bananas. In searching this forum I found some people that said they couldn't tolerate yogurt the first few months they started the diet. It occurred to me that maybe if the colon is too inflamed the yogurt might not help as much. But I've never had a problem with it in the past. So who knows? After my first colonoscopy back in Oct 2007 my doctor said I had inflammation of the large intestine with no ulcerations or bleeding. She said I possibly had Crohn's. I wasn't too bad off then and quickly found the diet. Without meds it made me around 90% better. The past few months I've gotten worse. Probably from too much almond flour and way too much fruit. I'm starting LDN tonight. , Colitis Oct 2007 SCD Jan 2008
