Sure sounds like low adrenal to me. I have those hot and clammy

things things, especially after dinner or sometimes in the mornings

when I haven't slept well. I am definitely a low adrenal and take

IsoCort for it. If I let myself overdo and really stress my

adrenals, I will have a whole night of getting hot and wet about

once every half hour or hour. I usually feel kind of weird when it

happens, vaguely like I'm going to be sick.

Thyroidians can have auto-immune polyglandular syndrome or Schmidt's

Syndrome, which is basically that the immune system also attacks

other glands besides the thyroid, such as the adrenals, and ovaries.

Pam,

Sounds like perimenopause to me. I think I'd ask my doctor if I could use the

progesterone instead of the Coumadin. In fact, perhaps you could add gingko

biloba to that or maybe something else. So you were told you had some adrenal

insufficiency? Maybe get a test done through ZRT labs (or lab of your choice.) I

say ZRT because I used them. I got the hormone panel #1 done. It was estradiol,

progesterone, testosterone, DHEAS & cortisol. You'd have a better picture on

perimenopause and your adrenals.

Hi,

Just in the last week or so, I've had moments - lasting from 30 seconds to

several minutes where I feel hot all of a sudden with a light clammy feeling on

the skin - not an all out sweat, just slightly damp feeling skin.

Normally, I am " cold " most of the time - it has to really be hot for me to

feel hot, even though other people around me are sweating! So my husband is

really surprised that I've wanted the air conditioning blowing right on me while

he's perfectly comfortable.

I take 5 grains of Armour and have for about 6 years. About 15 years ago I

was on Synthroid and my numbers were off the chart - I was horribly hypo!

Doctor had never seen anyone with my numbers. He switched me to Armour about 10

years ago - 3 grains and I worked my way up to 5 grains. I monitor it mostly by

smptoms now. I'm not always faithful to take it, but try to remember most days.

I am taking an adrenal support supplement (Tyler). It has adrenal in it, some

herbs, and a little bit of licorice root. I've been taking it for about 2

months now.

I'm also on Coumadin and have been for year due to several large bloodclots I

had in my left leg and pelvis last year.

I try to do everything as natural as possible as I am allergic to just about

everything in the world.

I used to periodically use a natural progesterone cream, but the doctor won't

let me take it because of being on the Coumadin. My periods have been extremely

unpredictable since being in the hospital last year.

What other symptoms do I need to look for if it is a problem with my adrenals?

I was told several years ago that I had some adrenal insufficiency and to

control it with diet. Nothing further was done at that time.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I'm working with both a family doctor

and a naturopath, so I'd like to be as informed as possible before submitting to

testing of any kind.

Pam
