Guest guest
Back in 1999, I and my friend who was a physician had the privilege of spending an afternoon with Dr. Ivan Danof, M.D., Ph.D. regarded by many as the leading authority/investigator on the aloe vera plant. Dr. Danof was in his late 70s so is probably retired now. He has impeccable credentials: BS in biology and chemistry M.S. in Nutrition and Microbiology; Ph.D. in Physiology, and a medical degree with specialties in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has written 80 research papers throughout his career. He served as a Fulbright Scholar in Afghanistan years ago investigating botanical medicine. At the time of our meeting, he was running studies in three countries (other than the U.S.) using aloe vera intravenously for hepatitis C and he told us China's Minister of Health was flying to Dallas to meet with him the next day to discuss using the product for gastro-intestinal studies. They were going to devote the entire gastrointestinal floor of the Beijing hospital to this study. There has also been research using the IV aloe for cancer and AIDS. I first heard of IV aloe vera from a physician who told me he used it successfully for CHF, Crohns and Candida, but he didn't reveal his source. He was then using it in a maintenance program. Dr. Danof stressed that not all aloe vera on the market is equal. He said scientific research has proven that while there are some 200 ingredients found in aloe vera, it's the sole ingredient - mucilaginous polysaccharide that is responsible for all the healing properties attributed to aloe, but there are very few companies that have the technology to extract the stabilized mucilaginous polysaccharides. Dr. Danof said aloe vera mucilaginous polysaccharide is a long chain sugar molecule composed of individual mannose and glucose sugar molecules connected together. The small molecules (50 to 600) reduce inflammation in such diseases as ulcerative colitis, arthritis and gastric reflux. It also helps with reduction of blood sugar with both type I and type II diabetes. The medium size molecules (up to 1500) are very effective intracellular antioxidants and free radical scavengers - very important in preventing and treating arteriosclerosis, heart disease and Parkinson's disease. (Vitamins and minerals only function outside the cells.) With the ever increasing pollution of the planet and loss of nutrients in the soil, the increase in free radicals and loss of cellular oxygen will only become worse with time - making aloe vera mucilaginous polysaccharides even more important than ever. The larger molecules - up to 5,000, have a direct anti-bacterial and anti-viral effect - very important with all the new infectious diseases cropping up and the older ones becoming more virulent from long term use of antibiotics. The very large molecules - upto 9,000 - are immune modulating, which have a powerful healing effect on AIDS, cancer and many different immune system disorders. It is also this large molecule that causes the body to produce a natural chemical, tumor necrosis factor, that functions to shut off the blood supply to tumors. To my knowledge, IV aloe vera is not available to the general public but there are a few companies producing an excellent aloe vera product - some of them quite expensive. Digestinol - www.digestinol.com MoloCure - http://ampfloracel.com/ http://www.ampmolo.com/index.htm AloeMaster - best price I've found is at www.purityproducts.com Coats International for the liquid. Dr. Danof use to do the quality testing of the Coats product. www.coatsaloe.com Dream Valley's highly concentrated liquid aloe vera.- sold by Cosmetic Specialty Labs http://www.aloe-vera.com/products.php?section=3 & catid=20 & id=77 Allied Pharmacy - Arlington, TX - 1-800-428-6331 - capsules Coats, Dream Valley and Allied all use organic aloe. I've heard Aloemaster does too but I'm not sure about the first two listed. Bottom line, if you are going to use aloe, for best results consider buying it from one of these companies. Ethel ..
