Hi Marilyn, what type of yogurt container do you use with the Excalibur

(plastic, glass, and are the tops covered tightly, etc) Thanks for any

help, Sam.

Marilyn2,

I remove the trays from my 9 tray Excalibur. I

prepare the yogurt in 2 liter covered containers

(I can fit four of them in the big Excalibur) and

place them in the tray-less Excalibur. I set the

temp to 105F. I close the door, and about 24-28 hours later, I have SCD

yogurt!

If you are doing dairy-free SCD for a few weeks,

no, you don't have to go fish it out. But once

you've moved, make sure you have a prominent

place for it... because it's seriously one of the most useful tools around!

At the time I got my Excalibur (January of 2002), I was recovering from

gallbladder surgery and didn't have the energy to go hunting.

So I just bought Yogourmet containers from Lucy's Kitchen Shop. She now

also carries half-gallon containers in glass which can either go in an

Excalibur, or in a Yogourmet.

A number of people have bought quart canning jars and placed those in the

Excalibur -- I'm pretty sure it would hold around eight of them.

Since dry curd cottage cheese (DCCC) was not available in New Orleans

when I started the diet, I was making and dripping large quantities of

yogurt, so only the best mass-production efforts worked. (Besides, my

husband, who hates store-bought yogurt, likes SCD yogurt!)
