Dinah,I have a Blentec, a and it works really well. We did all the Vitamix/Blentec research before we bought one, too. I think the Vitamix is supposed to be louder than the Blentec, which is a little scary becuase the Blentec is very loud! Also, the Blentec has buttons with automatic settings that you can just push and it turns off by itself when it's done, both of which are nice features. It's not as attractive as some blenders just becuase the container is plastic. I'm guessing it whirls the food around so fast they didn't want it to break. The main reason we got the Blentec though is because the Vitamix was too tall to fit on our counter under the kitchen cabinets =) No, I've never heard of L'Equip.AlyssaWhat is the best blender for pureeing and making smoothies? Is Blendtec as good as Vitamix, or vice-versa, or is there something better? And what about the L'Equip...has anyone heard of this one? Thanks all...Dinah>> Alyssa,> > Thank you for introducing me to this topic--I went online and read about the green smoothie, went to YouTube and watched one being made, read all the recipes, saw the big shrinking man after he drank the smoothies and generally had a blast. We drink a lot of smoothies in my house, mostly SCD yogurt and fruit. My boys eat well, but I'd love to get more greens into them and ME! I'm also looking to lose some weight and this looks like a healthy way. They are totally SCD compatible and I can't wait to taste them--hope it's as good as everyone says.> > Terry> UC, Lialda, SCD since approx 7/08> Tamoxifen 2 months> Re: Off topic a bit..Green Smoothies!> > > > > > This is a bit off-topic, but it applies to anyone who is interested in improving their overall health. I figured you guys qualify =) Anyways, I just wanted to recommend the book 'Green for Life' by Bouchenko. It is centered around the green smoothie, which is basically a fruit smoothie with added greens. It's a great book with a lot of good info, and she brings up important topics about why health in the past decade or so has been declining and how to fix it. She even gives a passing mention to UC! It's basically one more thing you can pretty easily add to improve your health, and I think that everyone could benefit from at least looking into it.> Alyssa> > > P.S. I'm not hired to sell her book or anything by the way =D I just read it and liked it.> >
