Guest guest
Hi Jody, I hope that your new game plan for feeding Liam continues to go well for awhile. We have to keep changing tactics every couple of months! In your message, you said that you were wondering about tube feeding. You can read lots of advice from other people who's kids actually have a g-tube - but I thought that I'd add one thing. We live in New Zealand (not the same as Australia, but you might have some of the same issues that we have with the health system). No doctor here has ever suggested that we get a g-tube for Tyler even though his weight has remained well below the 3rd%. He's nearly 3 years old and only weighs 9.5 kgs (21 lbs). (also in NZ) did manage to get a g-tube for Finlay, but she had to take a very pro-active approach to get some action. Anyway, I know Australia is a different country, but I thought I'd tell you this in case you decide that a g-tube might be the way to go. You may need to be prepared to gather information and push the doctors for it. (Tyler, 3 in January by birthdate but 3 in April by adjusted age, 21 lbs, 33 " , and , 18 mos)
