Guest guest
One of the things which is so pleasant about ASD kids on SCD is that most of them become less picky as their guts heal! My ultra picky son is not ASD, unless you count undiagnosed ADHD as being "on the spectrum" (which some do). I will not be able to convert the entire house to SCD immediately, so doing it with Jimmy will be impossible. But eventually this is just what I am hoping will happen. He has some heavy metals issues and mineral deficiencies we are working on. Zinc in particular. I could use some advice about any supps for him. His old supps had LOTS of sugar, and we are not going to buy them again as they run out (which they are doing). If you are doing dairy-free SCD, then the calcium powder is not a bad idea. That's what I thought. Good! Another source is to wash, dry, and powder egg-shells for addition to recipes -- you get not just calcium, but other minerals as well. But make sure you really powder them, or they'll be gritty in whatever you fix. Not sure I'm that brave yet, but it's not a bad idea for down the road! Thanks, Marilyn!
