Hey everybody,

I was talking on the phone tonight and just casually mentioned, " Oh

yeah, I leave for San Diego next Friday. " And then it hit me! NEXT

FRIDAY! NEXT FRIDAY!!! I am more scared of flying that I am of the

surgery, thanks to all I have read and all of your posts, along with

obesityhelp.com.

I know I can do this. I know it will be hard. But, I am SO looking

forward to borrowing my SON'S clothes LOL!!! And running! And

living again!

Thank you to for being such an amazing angel and for all the

encouragement I have received from others (Gemello, Gordy, Sunbrae,

et al.) What's cool is, people are already noticing that I am losing

weight. They ain't seen nothing yet!

Keep in your prayers as she goes " under the knife " Wednesday

and save a few for me for Monday, September 13.

It will be a strange weekend...my wife and I fly down on the 10th,

which is our 21st anniversary, get to enjoy San Diego Friday -

Sunday (except for the liquid diet, LOL) and then, my new life as a

loser begins. What an anniversary gift to ME!

What a long strange trip, it's been.

Hey Rory....

good luck on your surgery and make sure you keep us posted on your

results, etc. we will be thinking of you and praying for a smooth

operation and a speedy recovery.

As far as helping you through the process...I thank you for all your

help in my journey as well. Just think in about a year you will be

celebrating you new successes. maybe you should start conjuring up a

design for a new tattoo or something like all the ladies seem to be

doing as a commemorative to their success after a year. I think I'm

going to treat myself to a trip to Alaska when my year rolls around.

Not sure if you were kidding about being scared of the plane flight

but I'd like to share that I had phobias about flying for awhile and

the thing that helped make it easier for me was a flight down the

California coast. I was able to check out the topography of the

coastal hills and I found it to be very interesting which kept my

mind off the flight itself. The other thing that helped me was

remembering that no one, including the pilots want to be in a plane

crash and they were going to do everything in their power not to let

that happen....it's very calming.

Happy Anniversary to you and your wife.

Regards

Rory, just wanted to wish you the best of luck, and a speedy recovery. I follow

you to San Diego a week later. My surgery is on September 21 with Dr. Leo

. Where are you staying in San Diego, and how long do you expect to be

there? With a lap surgery, I expect you will have left town days before I

arrive on the 20th. I'm staying at the Sommerset Suites, so if you're still

there the night of the 20th, look me up!

Happy Anniversary to you and your wife.

All best,

Pat

Hi Rory,

I'm still really backed up on my e-mail, but I did have to take a moment

to let you know that you will be in my prayers for an uncomplicated

surgery and a full and speedy recovery. Although it is probably way too

late for to read this before her surgery . . . she is, of course,

also in my prayers.

I look forward to hearing that you are safely on the other side.

All the best,

Kay
