My Dr has been prescribing armour forever. I just never knew about

it. He is a geriatric Dr as well as an internist, so I suppose this

is why. Why he put me on synthroid is beyond me. He is a tsh

worshipper I think. The amount he gave me to start with sounds like

an enormous amount to start with, now that I have been here, and

have seen all the advise from everyone. But maybe is right,

some people just need a big dose to begin with. I haven't had any

major hyper symtoms or palpitati0ns. The only thing that bothers me

is if I don't eat. I have taken Tish's advice and am dividing up my

doses. It seems to help get me through the day better. Debi

Many only prescribe Armour to their elderly patients that started

thyroid therapy before the synthetics came out. When they try to move

them to the synthetic, the patient doesnt' do as well and demand their

Armour back. Also my reg doc told me that some people are allergic to

somthing in the synthetics so he gives them Armour. But he doesn't go

by symptoms and won't let me raise it high enough. So I went to a top

doc.
