Guest guest
Hi there We just heard that Finlays application for GH has been denied by the NZ growth hormone committee....because he is only -2.97 SDs in height and he needs to be -3SDs to qualify - can you believe it!!! Anyway if I wasn't stressed out and worried about the upcoming surgery I would have a heap of energy to put into appealing the decision - but as it is its going to have to go on the back burner 'til after Christmas and surgery etc etc. Anyway on a postive note we are making the most of the surgery having been postponed by a fortnight and are having a weeks holiday in Australia, Melbourne - it will be just what we need to escape and relax and SHOP!!!! and not think about g-tube surgery!! Would definately be interested in hearing about how others have appealed denials for funding for GH - although its a bit different here in NZ as we are appealing against a government decision not an insurance company. Will read the emails tomorrow but won't be near a computer for a week after that! Take Care everyone in New Zealand mum to 2 year old Finlay who is just learning to talk...very exciting! also mum to " number 2 " - 18 week scan tomorrow hoping for normal growth!!!
