another week - another problem

Hi:

Went to the doctor on Tuesday for the third Gentamycin shot. It's an antibiotic to get rid of this constant Strep B infection that I have had since June. Anyway, it didn't work. She told me it always works, figures it doesn't work on me.

But I mentioned to the doctor that I am still itching. She looked at me and said Strep B doesn't itch. I told her I've been itching since June and she said Strep B doesn't itch. I told her it was a clitoral itch not vaginal. Enough to be annoying, but not enough to scratch since it is not constant.

She checks and tells me my clitoral hood does not glide over my clitoris. It kind of gets stuck and that is where the itching is coming from. It's a lack of lubrication. Something else to treat now. Have to use Clobestol (spelling) twice a week on clitoris mixed with my E & T cream.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi, Sherry, Daily use of olive oil has helped me in the lubrication area. I had an episode where I think that was happening to me after a more aggressive sexual encounter. But fortunately, the hood covered what it was supposed to within a few days. You might try the olive oil for a week before you try the Clobetasol? Becky

That's a rather potent steroid cream - did she mention Lichen

Schlerosis to you? The olive oil was a good suggestion. I use Emu

Oil twice per day. I was diagnosed with Lichen Schlerosis but it is

not " active " so I don't have to use a steroid - I just use the Emu

Oil as I am very dry down there and it makes me very comfortable.

I hope Dee chimes in here - she knows all!

I never thought of using oils, are there any that are particularily

good for vaginal dryness and irriatation, and are there any that

shouldn't be used at all? How well does A & D ointment cream work for

that problem?

Thanks,

Holly R.
