Guest guest
Lou, No you are not alone feeling terrible on your meds. I take mine in the A.M. and about 2 hours later I need a nap. It's thanks to AFib I retired and now I am just tired. Mine are Sotalol 80mgs. Cardizem 120mgs. and synthroid 75 mcg. Evenings I take Coumadin 2.5 mgs. I yawn a good deal and drag thru the day and nap often, sleep in if poss. Don't have the zip I had for sure. To top it all off I do not have any real heart trouble or condition just AFib...Guess that is lucky ?? I keep telling others I need a good electrician. Guest guest
Well, far be it for me to offer any kind of advise as to your medical needs but your note fits right in with a LOT of what I have been reading from other boards as well as this one. I just have to think the doctors are better qualified to advise us than we are ourselves but then I am a maverick and a lot older than you. Best of luck to you. bill > > I am a 39 year old female who was diagnosed with afib a little over a > year ago.I am presently taking rhythmol, digitek, coumadin, lopressor(as > needed for fast heart rate)and lasix.I still have instances of afib > several times a day and i feel like this problem or the meds is > disabling me.My EP assures me i have to be on the coumadin and the > digitek and tells me rhythmol is critical. It seems to me that the > medication is draining me.Am i the only one whose meds makes them feel > worse than the afib itself? Guest guest
Hello , I am sure I'm not doing the correct thing but having said that I have, we think, persistent AF and I am taking aspirin, one in the AM and one in the PM, regular size. Somedays I get draggy and lightheaded when I raise up, numerous other symptoms from time to time. Quality of life isn't what it was but it is way better than I imagined it would be if I started taking 6 more Rx's every day. I wish you the best dear. bill > Lou, No you are not alone feeling terrible on your meds. I take mine in the A.M. and about 2 hours later I need a nap. As you probably already know, afib can make you feel tired‹very tired. As for the meds, I had fatigue and dizziness when started on diltiazem, then the same thing with Tikosyn and flecainide. I seem to have gotten over the side effects from these meds, because when I stopped them, I didn¹t notice much difference. However, I am still on Coumadin, and a friend of mine pointed out some of the ³infrequent² adverse reactions to Coumadin. Gosh, some of them sure are familiar and I never associated them with Coumadin! These include fatigue, lethargy, malaise, nausea, headache, dizziness, cold intolerance and parathesia including feeling cold and chills. You probably saw the thread on this board about the skin rash, which is another ³infrequent² adverse reaction. This info is available in the clinical pharmacology available at http://www.coumadin.com.
