Guest guest
Hello one and all! Well, it's been a long non-stop day in a week full of Mondays! It IS a full moon somewhere out there, isn't it? Gosh it's been madness here ) Just wanted to review my 3 year labs with all you medically educated people...... Doc says my UGI looks just as good as when he first did my RNY. He sees no significant difference between year 1 and year 3....and that's good! He's pleased as can be with me. Says it's rare that at 3 years out for someone to still be losing....even if it is slowly. Also seems that my triglycerides are the lowest of any of his patients and he wants me to add 1 tablespoon of corn oil to my diet every day. Add it to my salad, yogurt, protein, oatmeal, whatever! I told him I don't eat much fats and I guess my labs support that! I think corn oil has poly unsaturated fat and that's what I'm lacking in. I also have very dry skin so I guess I'll get a smooth and shiny coat too! Ok, the labs (at least the high and low points!) : Glucose ------------------75 Calcium------------------- 9.5 (had my dexascan and that came out great!) Total Protein--------------6.9 (is that ok ?) Albumin------------------ 2.9 Globulin-------------------1.4 Cholesterol--------------125 Triglycerides-------------47 Cholest/HDL Ratio-------1.74 LDL----------------------44 magnesium---------------2.1 B12----------------------799 Ferritin--------------------9 WBC----------------------3.2 RBC----------------------4.29 Hemoglobin--------------12.6 Hematocrit--------------39.9 And what does this one mean? PTH, Intact-------------84 (norms 10-65) After that is says " data reflect normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism " All greek to me! And my body composition test says my percentage body fat is 27.9% which I think is pretty darn good at this point! Thanks for your help on translating these results!
