Guest guest
<<What do we do when the everydayness sets in, when we really no longer have to strive for weight loss, for that all mighty scale to show a decrease. How do we continue on with our own normalcy? >> I can't even begin to imagine everydayness EVER setting in for me. I'm very near the end of my weightloss phase but focusing on that is already a thing of the past. My focus now is on doing all the things I couldn't or wouldn't do before. And it will easily take the rest of my life to do it all. Living life to the fullest is why I did this and that's what brings me the most satisfaction now....not the whole weight loss thing. :-) A. in Indy SRVG on 4-11-00 Dr. Huse Pre-op BMI 47, Pre-op Weight 278 lbs. Guest guest
<<I'm a " drama queen " , if I'm not losing and I stay thin, then what's fun and novel about that?! I need a new thing to be dramatic about!>> Trust me Marcia...there's plenty of other ways to add drama to one's life! ;-) Do something completely unexpected...walk on the wild side for a bit....live it up!!! Guest guest
The everydayness has an unrealistic quality for me. Like this body is not REALLY mine. Like this good health will vanish tomorrow and be replaced by my former comorbs & worse (I'm older now). Behavior alone can't keep me here. My surgery alone can't keep me here. It has to be those, plus the little games I play with myself to keep me from veering back into the active part of my disease. Whatever it takes. It is really daring for me to buy shorts NOW for next summer, because " what if? " .
