Guest guest
Dee, Thanks for sending this. I wish that they would have included endometriosis as well. Well, I do have the fibro, the IBS, and of course the vulvodynia. Going to do some more research on RSD at some point as well. Guest guest
Hi Dee, Thanks for article. I think the most important thing is said was: " Many books, websites and research that discuss the nonplus conditions mention that they frequently occur together and some suggest a common underlying mechanism is responsible for them. " COMMON UNDERLYING MECHANISM=Find the real thing that is causing all these syndromes--like Gluten Sensitivity/Celiac Disease is high on the list and the easiest to test for if you get an accurate test from the only lab that has one in the country: http://www.Enterolab.com If you have a blood test from your doctor you will not get the accurate diagnosis as they cannot find the antibodies in the blood. By the time they get to the blood stream they are so diffused they can't find them. The stool tests at this particular lab is state of the art and accurate. The immune reaction occurs in the stool and if they are there, they can be found. All of these syndromes Fibromyalgia, Myfascial Pain Syndrome, Chronic Fatique, Irritable Bowel Syndrome are simply clusters of symptoms. I was diagnosed with them all. When you are diagnosed with one of these you are tempted to think that this is the real disease. They aren't. They are real indications of sickness however. This article says it--find the underlying mechanism or real primary cause. Keep looking in other words and just don't accept the treatment for these symptoms alone. Just my opinion. HI Ar.... I smiled when I saw that as well and of course thought of you and it definitely made your point and agree. But besides the gluten or food connection it could just as well be a virus or bacteria that's the cause of so much. And that's what's so darn frustrating nailing it down and why I do agree it's best to at least rule out the Gluten & food connection as a first priori, That just makes so much sense to me.. if not, then prob. try the Lyme connection with the 'bugs' but with virus's? We're up the proverbial estuary with no means of locomotion. Hugs Dee~

Guest guest
My IBS was caused by a sugar overdose 12 years ago. It came b/c of eating two super sweet pies within a matter of about 10 minutes without giving my body a break. Up until that time I had never had bowel problems. But eventually I do intend to get checked for Celiac as part of putting all of the rest of my puzzle in to place like with the possibility of IC and some other things I need to have checked out. Guest guest
Hi Dee, Yes, I agree and that is why I say do the easy thing first and have good test for gluten (the right one or don't bother) or LYme or whatever other idea you might have. If that isn't part of the answer, keep looking. And of course there could be multiple problems--gluten sensitivity and Lyme. Actually with gluten sensitivity there most likely will be other things because of malabsorption and the damage it causes. I don't know anything about LYme Disease except the symptoms are similar. If the bowel flora is upset like in inflammatory bowel diseases (including and most especially gluten sensitivity which is an autotimmune attack) there is going to be bacteria all over the place because a damaged intestine is a very fertile place for bacteria to grow. Bacteria travels to bladders and vaginas and stomachs and upwards. Something has to mess up the bowel. There is a reason for an unhealthy bowel with overgrowths of yeast and bacteria. I don't think any of these things stand by themselves unless it is Herpes, a virus, but that has to do damage too which can produce bacteria. There is always a primary reason, a beginning thing that causes most disease. The meds don't really get into causes and that is why we should. Since the only autoimmune disease where we know the cause is caused by food, that is where I think it makes sense to look. There are others I am sure. When I eat dairy I can hardly walk at all because my legs hurt so much and because they just don't work. The nerves are affected. I was sick Sunday and Monday and didn't eat anything those two days except my powdered amino acid non allergenic complete meal replacement with orange juice. My legs felt wonderful. If I could just stop eating foof and eat non allergic amino acids I would feel wonderful. I think it is about " circulating immune complexes " . I can't wait to see more studies about that. I just think first we should look to the food the right way with the right tests until we can rule out the easiest things to test and allergy tests won't do the job. Anyway thanks, Dee. I am just rambling as usual. Guest guest
HI Arline.... always love your rambles so keep on keeping on... When I was talking about those 'bugs' and virus's, I wasnt talking about the 'known' standard ones but the stealth ones, that some people are just now realizing may be part and parcel but have been totally missed or not looked for or can't think out of the box. Ahhh we all should have been scientific researchers eh? Bet the group as whole all working on various things could have come up with some pretty exciting findings. I do wish and hope that anyone who's got a myriad of things going on, far more than just V pain, (tho that's enough) at the minimum get that Gluten test done and at Enterolabs. *smile*.... You've definitely convinced me and Lyme also has so many of the exact same symptoms and takes years to tie it all together too and by then so much damage has been done as well. *sigh* Take care Hugs Dee~
