Good Luck in your recovery...just take it easy for a few weeks and dont do too

much...get plenty of rest and drink fluids.

I had D & C surgery on June 23...went to the Drs yesterday and everything is

ok...just have to take a pill before bedtime for 3 months... and come back in a

year for a check-up...

Dear ,

I'm so glad you got through the surgery last week, and hope the path report

is good.

You were worrying about the mobility in your arm for after the op - I expect

a physiotherapist will have seen you by now and given you exercises to do.

I found mine very helpful, but those exercises aren't the only things you

can do. Just keep moving as far as you can, then stretching just a tiny bit

more - then on the place that feels tight, you can massage gently to make

the tight feeling ease off. It will still feel tight again next time, but

keep up the gentle massage on the tight place and that will help. My arm

has complete mobility again (my op was on 8 May 2006) and only feels tight a

very little bit.

It's great that you had clean margins (so did I) and no Lymph Node

involvement (I had 5 out of 15 positive).

I envisaged taking nodes to be like picking pips out of a grape, but my

surgeon laughed (nice man) and said no, he took the fatty area associated

with draining the breast, and the path lab had to inspect it under the

microscope - the nodes are really tiny.

Love,

Margery.

>Margery,

Still haven't heard on the Path, but didn't expect to until

tomorrow. I haven't seen anyone for exercise but after the steri

strips fell off the area of the sentinal node biopsy this afternoon

I have a full range of motion and carried (no lifting involved)

about 15 pounds of grain to feed to my horses. The horses won't let

me not do some exercise. Incision pulls a little but other than

that the arm feels fine.

I almost feel to good, it just can't last. I go see my surgeon on

Friday and hopefully will get my referal to Oncology then. I know

that I am being impatient, but I just want to know what is next.

All of course dependent on pathology.

Thanks for the kind words, and more importantly hope.

Please be careful with lifting/carrying anything on the surgery side. You don't

want to end up with lymphedema.
