Thanks, Marla. Max is actually doing okay. He is so happy to be

free from pain!!! The new problem is that the doctor did not do a

great job of lining the cast with cotton, so the sharp edges of the

fiberglass are killing his toes. Fortunately he has a mom who is

pretty creative, so I'm getting out the sports tape and taking care

of it. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Thanks, Marla. It seems that Max is a little worse today, so I am

taking him back to the doctor tomorrow. He is going to x-ray his

foot and, if necessary, remove the cast and put on a new one. I am

so exhausted from all of this! Not only do I have a 16 year old to

take care of (or supervise is more like it), I teach full-time in

the same school as Max and I have obligations there! I'm running as

fast as I can.

Marla,

I am happy to say that today was a pain free day for Max!!! Yea!!!

He is only complaining a little bit about his heels, but that is

totally normal for someone who had achilles tendons lengthened. He

won't even take Advil for it. I'll just take things one day at a

time and hope that each one gets better!

P.S. Regarding more than one child with RSS...Although I know of a

few families, the chances are so remote of your having another RSS

child that I would not worry too much about it. You would probably

want to make sure that your doctor keeps good measurements on your

baby, though, once you do become pregnant. And you may want to

request that higher level ultrasound that they do for more " at risk "

pregnancies. Chances are, though, that you will have a happy,

healthy baby.

You are probably in surgery right now but I hope you will post as soon as you

can because I am thinking about you, and I'm sure a lot of us are waiting to

hear about how you are.

Take Care,

PJ
