Hi Gisele,

Just wondering what you think of this...my daughter (11) started getting a sore

throat on Thursday and ended up really stuffy on Friday. By Saturday she was

feeling really tired and a little dizzy, then later in the day we noticed she

had an itchy rash on her hands and forearms and her face got really red and

itchy. She hasn't been tested for yeast, but failed the spit test and has had a

coated tongue at times, so obviously something there. I was wondering if this

could be yeast working it's way out?

Of course, the day the rash started she helped her Grandma plant flowers (with

no gloves) and went to the park and put her hands in the creek. So who knows

if that caused it. BUT, her tongue looks GREAT today!

Just wondered if this sounds like anything to you, or if I'm outta luck on

figuring this one out b/c of the flowers and the creek! :^D

bloating ...it forms colonies at your weak points? for me, I barely get vaginal

yeast issues ...but my sinuses/ears & eyes get very mucousy, stuffy & itchy ...I

know it often shows up as a rash ...my boss' opinion ( he's an ND) is that it

often shows up as IBD ...i did a $200 microbiology & it came back as " many "

under yeast ( of the ~50 we do per year, times 7 years ...that's the first

" many " lol...lucky me!! ) he treats even if it says " few " as he says it's

notoriousely hard to culture ...but thats where/how I found out that

parapsilosis is my most dominant strain ( I have albicans too) & which

antifungals work for it ( it usually list 1/2 dozen natural ones as well as

pharma ones ) ...yeast is a beast! lol...recently a distant cousin produced a

500 year family history & it showed that from the 1800's on, my relatives were

notorious for going bonkers & gettin hauled off to " asylums " lol ...so apparently

yeast/non-sour dough baking wasn't too good for my ancestors either lol..so scd

will hopefully keep me out of the nuthouse by feeding me nuts!!lol ;-) gisele

Thanks Terry. Good to know. I just looked up scarlet fever and she never had a

fever, her throat wasn't red at all (she said it was more moucosy and sore, not

like a really hurting sore throat - don't know if that made sense!) The rash

was also only on her hands and forearms...very pale, you could almost hardly see

it. It's almost completely gone now and her congestion has gone away.

The interesting thing about you suggesting scarlet fever is that she had chicken

pox when she was 5 months old, and shingles when she was in preschool, and

scarlet fever looks like it's from the same virus...

kinda makes me wonder...

one day--it's a good idea to have the pediatrician look to make sure it's not

scarlet fever- and if the itchy rash goes away with benadryl, then it's an

allergic rash (possibly the flowers)
