mast cells and salicylates

Hi Everyone,

Today I went to a new dermatologist, just to have an annoying wart removed

from my elbow, and OF COURSE, we ended up talking about my CIU.

I told him how I am much improved on my low salicylate diet, but my

allergist seemed to think that was unusual. But this dermatologist said,

" Well, you know, salicylates stimulate mast cell release, of course " or

something like that.

I didn't know this.

P.S. I am now vaguely putting together in my mind, when I first started to

get hives, that I had gone to CVS and bought some salicylic acid to try to

cure this wart without a doctor. (It didn't work.) Could that have caused

this whole five month disaster?
