Welcome Hope., Actually what you are talking about, my sister in law dealt with. It does get better. Massage that area of surgery with a good organic oil and firm massage, or estrace cream. the new area just needs stimulation and desensitization. Like if you lay down and hubby inserts a finger in slightly and gently and pushes downward it should help loosen ur pelvic opening and spam. It will stop that if you are diligent everyday. Well at least it help my sister... good luck hope_chest2 wrote: Hi,I'm an italian girl and I've just registered on this group.I would like to ask you a question:is there anyone of you that have had problems (pain during or after sexual intercourses) due to episiotomy or due to birthchild lacerations? And what kind of solutions have you found about these problems?Thank you so much in advance, and sorry for my english! ;-)Hope

Hi . Thank you for your answer. Unfortunatelly I have this problem since june 2004.... I've already done phisiotherapy (8 months) and massages as you rightly suggest. My problem is that my episiotomy is too-tight. I don't want to do a new medical operation. Now I'm taking Laroxyl and I'm continuing the massages and stretching with pot marigold oil or Saginil gel. I find Saginil gel very good for this kind of problem. But AFTER sexual intercourses my scar is usually very inflamed and it hurts. I've also tried the Aloe gel: it can help a few, but it's not the solution. What kind of new solutions can I try now? I've also tried the vaginal progressive dilatators. Is there anyone who have had this problem and who have found a good and "once and for all" solution? Thank you so

much! Hope sarah devore ha scritto: Welcome Hope., Actually what you are talking about, my sister in law dealt with. It does get better. Just a last question, : what's "ESTRACE cream"? Is it a cream with estrogen? Sorry for this question, but I don't know this word. Thanks again. Hi Hope Estrace is estrogen cream. Im sorry it still bothers you. I had surgery too, but I had a vestibulectomy. So the scar tissue you refer to as being sore. Mine can get like that if I wear tampons or intercourse. All I know with scar tissue is to manipulate and massage. Im sure someone here knows more and will help us. I have pain in my episiotomy scar that is being treated right now

with Physical Therapy and Elavil (Amitryptiline or Laroxyl).

Both these treatments seem to help. The pain is significantly less

now. Elavil can make you sleepy and give you constipation, though.

In 2002, I actually had surgery on the scar. They reopened it,

removed the dead tissue, and re-sutured it more loosely. It took

away the pain for four years (until 2006). My current doctor

doesn't believe in that treatment, and so I am taking Elavil and

going to Physical Therapy.

HI Hope. ;) Hon if I were you? I'd most definitely get some Estrace estrogen cream. It's a prescription but it can work wonders to soften scar tissue as well as get that skin healthy again from that espisiotomy.. My doctor did that to me too, thinking he was such a smart arse that he even told me he gave me a few extra stitches so I'd be like a virgin again and my husband would love it. ARGHHHHHHHHHh the damn idiot.

Anyway most of all I would NOT consider any kind of surgical fix for that.. with time it will loosen up... and I just wish I had known about the estrogen way back then. *sigh* and it will definitely give you back your stretchability again. My thoughts on it and good luck and hang in there.

PS; Estrace is a prescription estrogen cream hon... and it's a bioidentical estrogen exactly as we produce our whole lives. It's not Premarin so don't let some doctor tell you they're all the same, they are most definitely not. :) Good luck hon and be sure to tell your doc that you only want to use it 'topically' and just a tiny pea size amt. and it's not likely to be systemic at all, since you're younger they'll prob. give you a hard time, since they only think in the box that it's for menopausal women. ARGHHHHHHH

Hi,

I hope this does not give you less hope but I never had any VV

problems until childbirth and when I tore with my 2nd child I had a

horrible tear and they sewed me up. It was always painful and had a

small lip higher than my vagina so it made me a little smaller. I was

not able to have intercourse at all due to the pain but tried estrogen

creams, steroids, injections, etc and nothing worked. I never tried

PT but I could not even think of any one trying to stretch the area.

After 5 years wound up having surgery in June and 2 nights ago was the

1st time in 5 years that I had sex with barely any pain. It was not

enjoyable yet but not painful and I am very excited that the surgery

may have worked when nothing else had. It was not as bad of an ordeal

to go through if the results are anything like what I am beginning to

feel. I wish you the best and if you have any quesiotns of the

surgery , feel free to email me!
