Guest guest
Dear Fridge, It may not be the anti-depressants as also said. I take nothing to affect libido and I would rather have a root canal than have sex. Husband isn't thrilled either but hey I can't make myself want to so we all have to live with what we're dealt with. I'm perfectly happy with the status quo but I'm not sure how long he's going to be compliant. 18 months and counting, do you get to be a virgin again after a certain length of time, anyone know? haha hugs, Ramoth Message: 16 Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 22:58:06 EDT From: jacquemil@... Subject: Zoloft and Libido Is there anyone who has been on Zoloft in the past...lost their libido...changed to another form of anti-d, and regained their libido? I've never heard of this happening to anyone. I was on Zoloft for years...and assumed I'd never care again. I was changed to Celexa a couple of years ago...and was told loss of libido was not supposed to be a side effect...but after a couple of years..you'd think I'd notice a difference. I'm a bit afraid to mess around with my medications...as my depressions are pretty nasty. I would forego the enjoyment of sex to never having one of those depressions again. I don't usually speak this personally about myself...so here I am...talking on a nation wide forum...what am I thinking? Well...my doctors don't seem to have any answers...or even seem to care much. So...back to my original question...had anyone regained a lost libido who has been on Zoloft or other medication that is known for this side effect? Now I know is going to look at me funny when I walk into her house on Wednesday....and my poor DH won't even know I have posted this...heh heh!! Guest guest
I'm really surprised they didn't slowly take you off Zoloft while gradually introducing the Wellbutrin...so that you wouldn't have side effects...hmm...I have an appointment on Wednesday to talk to the psychiatrist about this...I am on Celexa right now..am going to ask her about the transition also...as I don't want it to be symptomatic if at all possible, unless of course the symptoms are an increased libido...=) I'd really like to know how you settle down on this drug. I'm thinking for financial reasons..to finish up my bottle of Celexa before changing over...if that is what we decide to do on Wednesday...so it will be the first of July before I make the change. So would like to watch those that go before me. Would appreciate your reports!!
