Guest guest
You could always buy a cheeseburger and just eat a bit and throw the rest away. Wasteful but it'll cure the craving! Wasteful but it'll cure the craving! Heh. I know myself far to well to hope that a single bite will stop the craving. Oy. But since my wife's going out tonight with some friends, I believe that I'll make myself an Ultimate Cheese Boca Burger. :-D -- Sláinte, S. Guest guest
Heh. Thanks for the tip, Bette. That's good to know for the future. But I've already got tonight's plan in mind: the Boca burger with the cheese and all. It's only 5 points, which will leave some points for dessert, too! Perhaps some week when I've been really good and saved ALL of my Flex points and worked out I'll have that JITB Ultimate Cheeseburger. With fries. Thanks, all, for talking me down. > In a message dated 3/19/2004 2:24:55 PM Pacific Standard Time, > rscrawford@... writes: > > That's a total of 36 points. And I used to eat it all the time. Too bad > there isn't a fast-food burger joint that serves free-range beef!! I don't really eat the burgers anywhere any more. Not that they are the only source of problems. Lysteria has been found in deli meats. Unfortunately some legislation to require testing of facilities that prepare deli " pre-sliced " meats and hot dogs was killed when Bush took office. If I had really small children I don't know that I would feed that to them without cooking it. What did they have to recall? It was like 27,000,000 pounds of pre-sliced turkey and other deli meats a few years back? Of course most of it had already been eaten. You just never know! Guest guest
I've had bison and it is delicious! My Dad grew up on a farm and every summer we used to visit and we'd always butcher either a pig or steer. We used to also grow our own chickens and rabbits. I think when you grow up with the idea that animals come in a few categories; pets, meat, wild, and barn cats; you just have a different attitude towards it. I hate the way that our animals are farmed by big corporations because I don't want to think of ANY animal suffering. But a humane butchering has never bothered me. HOWEVER, I do understand why it bothers other people.
