Guest guest Posted April 8, 2003 Report Share Posted April 8, 2003 I just found out exactly how big my fibroid is - 24 cm. It is up to my navel and extends crosswise from bone to bone. I knew it was big but didn't know how big. I am anemic and have heavy bleeding at period time. I am 50 yrs old. Since I am now unemployed I have to wait until I am employed and insurance kicks in before I can go the next step and see my obgyn. For a fibroid this size, what are the options for having it removed? I would much rather have it removed than have an embo although that might be an interim measure to stop bleeding in the case of new employment.
