cortisol numbers are pretty telling. It sounds like something else is your

issue. Either too low, too high thyroid levels, or blood sugar give you

afternoon slumps

yeah, but we all know numbers don't tell the whole story. : )

My numbers were very similar to yours and I could not tolerate armour til I

started on 20 mg cortef. I had definite slumps in the afternoon before I

started on cortef. I think someone with really healthy adrenals would have much

higher numbers. Deb

I don't think it would hurt at all. I usually start mine around 8:30 or 9am

because that is when I get up and take it every 3-4 hours ending up around 6 to

7 pm. I have taken it as late as 9 pm and not had it bother me. Jefferies says

take it with meals and at bedtime. Some can do that but others it bothers them

sleeping. Just fool around with it til you find your right times. There is

probably not a set way for everyone. Deb

Re: Low afternoon cortisol?

Deb, do you think it would be a bad idea to just take a small amount

of Cortef in the afternoon, if that seems to help? I know most

people say to take it in the AM to 4 times a day, but when I have

tried it that way and in larger amounts it seems like too much for

me.
