Marilyn,

I want to make sure that I'm following SCD fanatically, so I have a

few questions for you:

1) Is parmesan cheese that is made from part-skim milk, cultures, and

enzymes legal? I read in the BTVC book that parmesan cheese should

be used sparingly, and this particular brand is so cheap (< $3) and

made by a big name (DiGiorno) that I'm worried that it might be

illegal. Is there a good way of telling?

2) Is Tropicana OJ now illegal? I noticed in the grocery stores that

Tropicana is advertising a juice that contains 50% less sugar than

the premium brand, which leads me to wonder..why does the premium

brand have sugar to begin with, other than the natural fructose of

the oranges, if it is allegedly legal? For that matter, can Welch's

grape juice still be trusted, since it contains juice from concentrate?

3) Do you avoid ground meats as a general rule? Following an SCD

cookbook, I had been buying ground turkey and ground chicken somewhat

naively. Only today did I notice that " natural flavorings " had been

added to the ground poultry products. Really disturbing! Can ground

beef be trusted?

Thanks in advance!
