Guest guest
** Well, , I'm doing pretty darned good! Thanks for asking! Last week I got my other drain out...now I get around real good, hardly any pain! I get pretty tired, but I can't get out and go anywhere...no driving privilages for 1 month after surgery! I've only been out of the house 4 times in the last 2 wks. But, I've only got 2 more weeks to go till I can drive again. I guess there are alot of stomach muscles used when we drive...doctor's orders. I'm not going to do anything to mess this new tummy up! On Monday, I go back to have my stitches removed. Some of the swelling is going down. Dr. told me it will take about 6 wks for swelling to go down, and 6 months to see final results. I like what I see so far...can't wait to see it in 6 months!! YIPPEE, just in time for swimwear! Yesterday, my hubby told me I was a " HOTTIE " ! I had a pr. of size 18 jeans on and a sleeveless sweater, looked pretty good! And best of all....I FELT pretty good about myself! Just over a year ago, I was wearing size 34W, and not feeling very good about myself. Hey, that's pretty cool someone sent you protein! What a great bunch of folks we have here! We rely on each other to lift us up when we're down and encourage each step of the way...cool! Sorry you were sick...bad fibro? or is something else going on? I have to keep after myself to drink my water too. I've been doing very good about protein...been getting 3-4 in a day like clock work, but sometimes fall short in the water. So, that's why I started reminding myself (and everyone else) to sip their water. It helps heal our bodies in so many ways. I love you, girl! Hope today is a better day for you! Take care. Guest guest
, the group here in DC where I had my RNY urges us to drink 64 ounces of clear liquid a day. That's 8 glasses of 8 ounes each. Some of that can be mixed in with other stuff, like protein drinks, but the recommendation is to try to drink at least 32 ounces of unmixed fluids, water preferred... sounds like a lot, but if you sip ... sip ... sip ... all the time, no matter where you are (everyone carries a water bottle with them everywhere these days), you can get it in. It is really important, you know, not only to keep your skin nice and clear-looking, but for all those internal workings. Cheers! Sharon Buck RNY 9/17/02 358/314 Down 44, by gosh!! WATER How much water are you supposed to drink a day? I am post op over a year and no one has told me to drink a certain amount of water. I do know that when I went to the doctor recently, the nurse said I looked dehydrated, but still did not ask about or inform me of the amount of water I needed. I know I don't drink as much liquids as I used to and not a lot of water at all. Any answers will help,
Guest guest
64 ounces has always been the magic number I hear touted about. That is not enough for me. I do 100 a day. You can develop the habit, but it does take some time and diligance.

It reminds you.
