Hi Everyone,

I hope all is well with you.

It is hard for me to read postings concerning my daughter or myself, which

contain statements, which are false or are misrepresentative. I cannot stop

them, and I will not waste my valuable time which should be better spent on

caring for my family. However, I believe I need to make this brief statement

to remind everyone to be aware not everything they read on the listserve

should be viewed as fact. I also believe I must address the following

statement, " But, as a " senior " RSS parent and one who was a part of the

original establishment of MAGIC's RSS division, I was privy to knowledge that

only three people have seen. " The person who posted this (, Fred,

Chandler) was not involved in the establishment of the RSS Division and, in

actuality, was non-supportive. I have no idea what the latter part of the

statement, " privy to knowledge that only three people have seen " is about.

Please be assured, MAGIC and its volunteers thrive on making sure all

knowledge is disseminated to its members.

Chelsey, Jackie, and I are all doing extremely well. We are enjoying life

and living it to the fullest. Both girls are in excellent health. (Except

Jackie sprained her ankle Friday). Chelsey is a Sophmore at Wesleyan

University and was accepted into a very challenging major called the College

of Social Studies. Jackie is in 8th grade and is an A student. She also

happens to be an unusually gifted tennis player. She played the number 2

position in singles on this year's Girls High School Varsity Tennis Team.

This is quite an achievement in the history of the school. The only match

she lost during the season was to the girl who ended up winning the Sectional

Tournament (a tournament for all of the high school players in the area

consisting of several hundred players). This shows you how these RSS

children can achieve as much as, if not more, than the average child.

Good luck to all of you in making the decisions as to what is best for you

and your children. It is always a challenge.

Hi Everyone,

In response to my former wife's statement, I would like to clarify

that I have made no remark that is false or misrepresentative in my

post.

I will address each item that feels is inappropriate:

(1) " but as a senior RSS parent and one who was a part of the

original establishment of Magic's RSS Division " .

commented, " he (Chandler) was not involved in the establishment of

the RSS Division and, in actuality, was non-supportive.

I want to ensure that receives all the credit for establishing

the RSS Magic Division. She has put in a tremendous amount of time

and effort and our families have all benefited. A marriage is a

partnership, granted carried the bulk of the RSS

responsibilities and, yes, perhaps I could have been more a

supportive husband. However, I remember many nights stuffing

envelopes, checking mailing lists, answering phone calls and

sometimes consoling parents when was unavailable, reviewing for

grammar on 's newsletter, how to handle the

controversy over the speaker at the first convention, etc.

I have been involved with RSS for over 15 years with my daughter and

stepdaughter's situations. For this reason, I would consider myself

one of the more " senior " RSS parents. I have a great knowledge base

and think I can constructively contribute to the list discussion.

Yes, perhaps my point of view is different from most, but I do not

think its healthy to have a monotone voice, how else can progress

occur?

(2) " privy to knowledge that only three people have seen " .

indicated she has no idea what this statement means.

The three people I am referring to is Stimmel, Salem,

and me. Over many years, received numerous private calls or

emails from RSS parents discussing various issues. Issues that were

private and not for sharing with the general list. Many of these

would share with me to get my opinion or just release her

frustration over the unfortunate situation. From this privileged

information, I began to see various patterns based on various

relatives medical histories of RSS children. These are some of the

issues I would like to explore with the list to see if, truly, there

is a pattern. I want to ensure that any information that I have

received in private will remain that way unless someone wishes to go

public on the RSS-Support list.

I am a very conservative individual, who until 1996 unquestionably

followed conventional doctors' advice. That rapidly changed as I

exposed myself to alternative medicine through reading various books,

speaking and meeting with some to the most prominent alternative

doctors in the country, and personally benefiting with tremendous

results. I originally thought that alternative doctors were a bunch

of " quacks " , but there are many that are practicing innovative

medicine. I would like to expose the list some of this information

and let you make your own decisions.

Whether 's theory or mine is correct is still open for debate,

and perhaps, we are both correct somewhat. Because I have a

different opinion, does that mean I should not be heard? Is it in

the best interest of our children to be exposed to a monotone voice,

or should this be an open forum.

I apologize that I feel the need to defend myself, but my daughter's

long-term health is the most important goal.

Regards,

Chandler " Fred "

Chandler,

With all due respect, I think that all of this back and forth stuff about

your marriage needs to stay private and not on this listserve. Most of us

know your history for stretching the truth and twisting the facts around.

Wasn't there some legal action that was threatened by MAGIC for just this

sort of behavior?

While I know that your number one concern is for your 13 year old daughter,

the most important piece is that she is happy, healthy and doing extremely

well. This is despite the " alternative " methods of which you speak. I am

always open to new information and ideas, and I will NEVER consider them

unless they are medically tested and proven to be safe for my children. You

have provided no satisfactory information which proves any of this to be

true. It does not take much to publish a book, Chandler. Anyone can do it

for a price.

I also do not consider you to be a " senior " RSS parent. That is, in itself,

a misleading statement. You seem to have a knack for that. You have a way

of making statements that seem to be true and valid, however, once we look

into the facts, they are usually twisted and formed to appear one way while,

in fact, they are another. The label of senior RSS parent is a very special

one. It applies to someone who has an RSS child, has been actively involved

with that child and his/her medical needs and has been actively sharing

information with other parents for a long, long time. I do not think this

has been the case for you. On the contrary, you have been removed from the

situation for the most part and told to cease your involvement. (Ah, you

forget to share some of the stuff that went on with " RSS Solutions, " don't

you??)

This listserve is open to all who are interested. We all feel free to share

our ideas, questions and concerns. None of us push any ideas on anyone else

- especially since we are not doctors. But you do. What is alarming to me

is your strong motivation to spread what could be incorrect or even

dangerous information that is not necessarily upheld by medical

professionals. WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE SO INVOLVED? What is your TRUE

motivation? If it is for your daughter, then why involve all of us? Do you

not see that many people have been challenging your credibility and still

you persist in sharing this so-called medical information? If it is to

contradict and put down your former spouse, save it for private times. It

does not need to be aired here.

I am one of a very few who can call herself a " senior " RSS parent. As you

probably know, many years ago for ACRSS, I started this whole support group

thing. I began with only 17 names and it quickly grew to over 300.

was kind enough and motivated enough to pick up where I felt I had no more

to give. It had gotten too large and grew out of my hands. took a

homebased support group and made it the wonderful part of the professional

organization that it is today. has worked very hard to keep it

going and I have been active behind the scenes to help her along. THAT

makes us the senior RSS parents, not you. You have taken some crazy ideas

and tried to make them fit the puzzle, only the pieces don't fit.

Until you have concrete information that will benefit us all, please stop

this nonsense. If you have constructive, helpful information, then share

it. If you have personal issues to battle, leave us out of it. You are

similiar to the SirCam 32 virus that wormed its way through my old computer

and made it crash over time. We are here to support and hold each other up,

not tear us down.

Hi Everyone,

With all due respect Jodi, I have painstakingly gone out of my way to

avoid the inclusion of my family matters on this list.

This included using my middle name, " Fred " , so new members would not

be subjected to the kind of personal attacks that I have endured in

the past and present by you. Your accusations are not worth

addressing and I am not interested in getting into a verbal dual. I

could take copious amounts of time and refute each of your attacks,

but what has this gained for our children.

I will leave this matter to Ken's judgement as moderator. Several

times Ken has warned against personal attacks and that appropriate

action will be taken.

I feel I have a great deal of information to offer RSS parents,

however, it happens not to correspond with your beliefs. Many

parents over the past several weeks have corresponded with me

privately. Several have mentioned that they prefer to conduct our

conversations privately to avoid the wrath from a few dogmatic RSS

parent's attacks against my doctor's opinions.

Enough said, I will leave this matter in Ken's hands.

parents over the past several weeks have corresponded with me

privately. Several have mentioned that they prefer to conduct our

conversations privately to avoid the wrath from a few dogmatic RSS

parent's attacks against my doctor's opinions.

Enough said, I will leave this matter in Ken's hands.
