Hi ,

No you didn't goof:) It just makes it easy for all of us to answer a question

like yours if we know what the diagnosis is . With RA ( abrev. for rheumatoid

arthritis) This is one area that DOES have the clinical and scientific data to

support that antibiotic therapy in long term does reduce the need for DMARDs(

disease modifying anti rheumatic drugs) and remission rates were seen higher

with long term AP use especially O' Dells ( rheumy with neb. University )

his 4 yr follow up study on RA patients I would come off or give up the AP

either :) . Thanks for sharing . Im glad you hanging in there . WORST case

scenario you add something to control the disease while you continue AP because

AP MAY get you off that stuff and avoid long term side effects. Hopefully you

caught this early and wont need to do that . Hugs,

socjog

Hi All,

This is , again. I'm sorry I failed to tell you my diagnosis was

Rheumatoid Arthritis. Socjog, thanks for your reply- I want to make sure you

know I didn't quit the AP, just the added metronidazole and lamisil. I think the

minocin, and now doxy, are the reason I don't have serious joint damage and I

don't intend to stop. I am going to make that appt. with Dr. Sentef. Maybe he

can point me in the right direction so I can get close to remission too! I am

very happy for your progress. I have been fortunate enough not to have to take

the methotrexate or plaquenil my first rheumy suggested. I'll continue to tough

it out. Thanks again , all,
