I was given this book by

from HINY many years ago. She and I were in agreement that

this author doesn't really say much or do much for us. She is pretty

damn angry but that is about all. If any of you want the book I would

be happy to mail it to you. I have one copy. Please email me off

list with your mailing details. First to respond gets the book. You

can decide for yourself and then pass it on to the next.

I did buy this book and read it and let my husband read it too. Yes, there were two things that frustrated me about this book... one, that she never really found a cause or cure for the vulvodynia. The other, that she somewhat implies that it could be partly psychological because she doesn't have pain when having sex with the new, younger, boyfriend but had pain having sex with her older boyfriend who was a little overly aggressive. I'm sure that was just her honest take on it at the time...

I did find the stuff about how it affected her sex life, how ignorant some of the doctors were, and how many different treatments she tried very interesting.

But, still.... ultimately it left me wanting a different ending.

My question about this book is-did she get well? I would read it if

there was some " hopefulness " to it. Otherwise-no, thanks! I am

trying to live by the power of positive thinking as best I can and

don't need to fill my head with negativity.

xoxo,

Lindsey
