Guest guest
Hi Friends, I found a picture at the website listed below that looks exactly like the spots on my calves. There are less than a dozen on each leg and they do not itch when I scratch them. So, anybody know what this means, besides the fact that I probably have diffuse cutaneous mastoctosis? http://webmd.lycos.com/content/asset/adam_imagepage_2438 Joan __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Thank goodness, No Joan - but thank you very much for the pics. I did look through them earlier when you sent the one identical to your calves and did not come across anything familiar. The ones that I was referring to are little tiny pinch vessels as Ann was describing. Something that would happen if you were to lightly but just a little too harshly, pinch someone and the vessels would rise to the top skin layer. I will be sure to snap a couple of shots next time this occurs. I do have some light brown freckle like spots on my feet at the bottom of my toes that have only been there for a few months but thought they were from the clogs that I wear on a daily basis..?? or possibly age spots of some sort. Hmmmm Thanks again ~
Guest guest
Hi Joan and Ann, Masto can manifest itself in a variety of ways. The thing with diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis is that your skin texture should be different, like an orange peel. However, the spots themselves that look like either moles or bruises or freckles would be urticaria pigmentosa. Now there is another type, the broken vessel looking spots (or I call them raspberry marks or squashed spider marks) are yet another form of Mastocytosis called TMEP (Telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans). Have you had a skin biopsy Joan? If you have there is a way for an old biopsy to be restained for mast cells. Tricky but can be easily done. I can send you more information about different forms of testing and the different forms of Masto as well, in clearer detail. I urge you to get tested and caution you being diagnosed takes a skillful doctor and skillful pathologist. I am here to answer any questions you have anytime!! Guest guest
Hi , that sounds like TMEP a form of Masto. Do they look like raspberrish marks or squashed spider marks? Alena has one on her face, next time it flares I will send a pic. I just love the picture of your neices room, I was laughing so hard, she must be a real sweetie. Love, ~Alena's Mom Re: diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis Hey Joan? I am very new to this, as you are so don't have much info. for you. But, I am curious........do your spots ever look similar to passion mark/ hickey marks? Like little spots of red blood vessels clustered together or anything? I have been getting something like this for the past 6 months now and now am wondering if it could possibly be an indicator or masto. Thanks for any input. Sorry for not being around, had to take a quick trip up to my mother-in-law's place and was gone for a few days. Thanks for caring!!
